Cracow is one of the oldest university towns, where many outstanding Poles had been studying, among others: Mikolaj Kopernik and pope John Paul II. The city lives not only in cultural institutions encircled with stone walls but also the streets are pounding here with life. The Square and adjacent streets are another city scenery attracting tourists with multitude of cafes and pubs, circulating with buzz of voices and music. All the trade tradition of Cracow can be found around colorful stalls with souvenirs located in the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice).
What you can see in the Square is St. Mary's Basilica with altarpiece by Veit Stoss and you can also hear the heynal from the Tower when the clock strikes a full hour. An exceptional collection of works of art, including Lady with an Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci, can be seen in the Museum of Czartoryskich . The variety and profusion of the cultural offer of Cracow theatres, galleries and museums is a unique opportunity to comprehend the art. Night life of Cracow
Habitants from other cities can only dream of the plentiful nightlife of Cracow. You simply have to experience it! Our city buzzes with life day and night, the same huge crowds can be seen on the Square at both 4 p.m. and 4 a.m. Cracow is a city of innumerable street restaurants, bars, pubs and music clubs. In almost each tenement of the Old Town at least one entertainment club is located. You can find both restaurants serving meals from all over the world, as well as clubs with unique atmosphere where you can party all night long. In the summer the café-gardens are flooded with people and music can be heard from the cellars which makes everyone want to have fun. The Old Town and its neighborhood are one of the biggest entertainment centers in Europe. There are over 200 cafes, restaurants and clubs situated on the Square, which will certainly satisfy even the most demanding requirements of their guests.
